Myofascial Pain Syndrome Treatment
Proliferative therapy, also know as prolotherapy, is a method of injecting an anesthetic and an irritant (usually containing dextrose) into the weak joints, ligaments or tendons which are damaged. It is a procedure which helps ligaments and tendons to be repaired naturally.
How it works –
Prolotherapy makes tissues strong, which in turns improves stabilization and relaxes muscles. This relieves the pain.
When we should use Prolotherapy treatment:
- Overuse injuries
- Ligament or tendon dysfunction (sprain, strain, and tendonitis)
- Bursitis
- Arthritis
- Degenerative discs
